Nelson Mandela's timeline

1918 - Was born in Qunu, near Umtata
1944 - Helped to found the ANC Youth League
in the late 50s
1952 - Mandela and Tambo opened the first Black Law firm in South Africa
1962 - Had been arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment
1990 - Mandela's released
1993 - was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize
1994 - Was inaugurated as the first democratically elected

Turning point:

1. became increasing aware of the unjust nature of South Africa Society

2. in 1960 the Sharpeville massacre of 63 black South African’s changed the whole political climate.This led Mandela to advocate armed struggle through the Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK).

3. by 1962 Mandela had been arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment in the notorious Robben Island prison.

4. in 1994 he elected State President of South Africa on and was President until June 1999



Fred Hollows timeline

1929 - Was born in New Zealand
1960 - Got a job in Australia
1970's -Helped launch a national program to attack to  eye disease in Aboriginal Australians
1980 -  Was travelling all over the world
1989 -  He wouldn't live to see all his ideas happen. He was dying of cancer
1993 - Died at home surrounded by his friends, his wife and their five children

Reflection

My name is Zahra, I just started this course ( EFS ) this week to build up and prepare myself for my future aspiration, which is getting Bachelor Degree in Children Service from Western University in the following year. I hope, I will be successful in this semester by getting high mark in all 9 units with 4 different lovely teachers.
